
Brian Payer
Brian is from Annishinaabe – Garden River First Nation but grew up in Tanzania, Chinook Program-UBC Sauder School of Business-Former Senior Director. Canadian Aboriginal Economic Development Strategy-Past Board Member.Nation Aboriginal Achievement Awards-Past Judicial Member; Allied Indian and Metis Society Halfway House-Past Board Member ; Native Education College-Past Board Member BCIT -Past Aboriginal Advisory Board Member. Brian earned his Bachelor of Commerce Degree at the University of British Columbia in 1981. He has extensive experience in both the private and public sector. He was actively involved in Mega projects as a consultant during the early 80’s as well as worked in industry designing computer applications for large trucking operations and the ship building industry. When leaving the government to pursue his entrepreneurial aspirations, he became a National Board Member for two major federal economic development programs. Brian spent considerable time in Ottawa advising government and fighting opposing Ministerial directives. Brian also owned and operated a mid-ranged manufacturing facility that employed 30 people.
